Keep close to Nature's heart... and break clear away, once in a while and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean. —John Muir
Day 1 Saturday, August 23, 2014.
Five hour bus ride from Kaohsiung to Taipei, then another one and a half hour bus to Yilan.
Finally I arrived in Yilan! Brian and Tom picked me up at the station. We had breakfast together at Brian's, got ready and hit on the road! :D
Our captain, Brian.
Selfie in the car!
Hualian Ching-Shui Cliff 花蓮清水斷崖
It is the only seaside viewing in Taroko National Park where you can see the three different color tones of the Pacific. The cliff, with breathtaking view and such a blue sky impresses every single visitor. How beautiful mother nature is!!

At the Ching-Shui cliff with beautiful people.
We stopped at the tourist information center, asked where the camping site was and how much they charged.
On the way to our camping site, we stopped at this amazing Taroko Gorge! Nature is truly a master at creation. Taroko National Park is definitely a must see spot in Taiwan.
We went back to the camping site to eat some food.
Tom is trying to crack open the coconut with that rock! :D
Brian's homemade crackers with apple, cheese and green pepper. It was yummy!
After lunch, we drove around and tried to find a nice spot to swim. The first one we found, it was a bit dangerous to climb down to the rive. Also, the river was too rapid to walk across, not to mention swim in it!
Look what we've found. A beautiful long-legs spider!
We decided to keep looking for another place! :D
It took us a little bit effort to break into this place but it was worth doing it!! Check out the beautiful pictures!

I was trying to capture the water splash instead of the moment of Brian's funny face. :D
"It is freaking cold down there!" We screamed.
Here comes the monkey!

BARBECUE TIME!
Claudia is always our Barbecue queen!
It was a beautiful night with barbecue, live music, beers, friends and stars. Look forward to seeing the Baiyang Trail and waterfalls tomorrow! Nighty night xx
Day 2 Sunday, August 24, 2014.
Good Morning! Waking up with a super nice weather, you could see a splendid view of the mountains just right in front of you and hear the sound of the river and insects outside the tent. Life is so good. What could we ask for more?
We had eggs and bacon with toast and potatoes for breakfast! It was a great start of the Sunday morning.
Three boys were playing throw and catch the bottle game. :D
Baiyang Trail 白楊步道
It features valleys, cliffs, waterfalls, rivers, tunnels, and different kinds of flowers along the way. The two-step Baiyang Waterfall and Water Curtain are the must-see spots while hiking this trail.

Why happened to the guy on the left? Why wasn't he smiling? :D
The Taroko crew going to explore the wild!
At the end of the trail, you'll see two massive waterfalls in front of you.
Hang in there! We're almost there at the Cave of Water Curtain!
Soon after the waterfalls, continuing another 300 meters and you'll reach the Water Curtain. It is created by spring water falling from the tunnel roof.
All of us couldn't wait any longer after a while walking under the sun so we took off our clothes and went into the Cave of Water Curtain as fast as we could! The cold natural water made us feel so good and refresh. We had a great shower and a lot of fun! :D

The water was freeeeeezing as hell. Eva and I were trembling after Tom took this picture!
At the end of the Waterfall, there was a path leading us to another forbidden spot. So a group of people chilled at this secret spot behind the water curtain and got high.
Photo by Brian. Great shot, love this one so much! :D
Afterwards, we said goodbye to Jason, Eva and Claudia and drove back to Yilan. I spent another day in Dongshi with Tom and Danny.
Although it was raining, I was lucky to see the beautiful sunset on my way back to Kaohsiung on the bus.
I had so much fun with everyone in beautiful Hualien and we had heaps of nice pictures as our memories. This amazing weekend—little getaway into the nature, had refreshed my body and mind. Hope y'all had a great time as well. I'll always remember it.
